Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark January 7, 1914

Mrs. Mary J. Oliver, 64 years old, died Monday night at 10:30 o'clock at the 
residence of her daughter, Mrs. L.P. Rhoads, 200 Ivy Street, after a lingering 
illness.
She was born on Roanoke Island, N.C., but had been a resident of Berkley 23 
years.
She is survived by two children, Mrs. Rhoades and Capt. M.V.B. Oliver. 
The funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the 
above residence by Rev. W.R. Flannagan, pastor of the Berkley Avenue Baptist 
Church and burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
