NORFOLK - Eddie Louise “Bay Bay” Leonard Oneal, 56, of the 500 block of West 27th 
St., departed this life Nov. 6, 2006, at her residence. A native of Arkansas, 
Eddie was born Sept. 29, 1950, to Jessie Leonard and the late Eddie Leonard. She 
was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and Norfolk Vocational Nursing 
School. Eddie had been a nurse for more than 20 years. She was employed with 
Providence Place, DePaul and Medical Staffing Network. She was predeceased by her 
grandmother, Elnora Baker; first husband, Horace F. Nichols Jr.; and her 
grandchild, Monecia.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Earl Oneal; daughter, Makessha 
Leonard; sons, Darrell Leonard, Kenneth Nichols and Brian Nichols, all of Norfolk; 
brother, James Leonard of Norfolk; grandchildren, Darrell, Dionte, Davon, Aneisha, 
Shanel, Jante’, Akira, Demetrius, Kenneth Jr., Camara and Jalen; great-grandchild, 
Jakyla; uncle, Samuel Davis; eight sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives 
and many friends.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral 
Service, 7246 Granby St. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, 
Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at 533 West 27th St. one hour prior to 
the service for the procession to the chapel. Condolences may be offered to the
