Mr. Ottley was widely known in this section and was a nephew of the late Col. J.J. Ottley, who died about four years ago. He had been retired for several years. He was a native of Columbus, Miss., and had made his home here 20 years. He was the son of the late William N. and Mrs. Frances Henry Ottley, and the husband of Mrs. Lucille Armor Ottley. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Emil Heichelbech, of Norfolk; three sons, Waightes G. Ottley, Jr., of Winchester, and Milton M. and William P. Ottley, Richmond; three brothers, William H. and Clifton M. Ottley, of Columbus, and Marcelle W. Ottley, of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. R. Victor Jones, of Columbus, and Mrs. Arthur J. Lancaster, Norfolk; four grandchildren, Lucille and Jean Heichelbech, and Francis and Betty Ottley, and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Columbus. The body was removed to the Sykes Funeral Home, 124 East Berkley avenue, pending funeral arrangements.
