Virginian Pilot October 13, 1911
Malachi Overton, 86 years old, died yesterday morning at his home, Hodges Road, 
Norfolk county, after a long illness.  The deceased was a native of North 
Carolina.  He is survived by a widow and four children and he was many years 
engaged in the cotton business in his native state.
The funeral will be conducted from his residence this afternoon at  3 o'clock.  
Rev. E.S. Pierce, pastor of the South Norfolk Baptist church, will officiate and 
the interment will be in Magnolia cemetery

FUNERAL OF MALAKI OVERTON

The funeral of the late Malaki Overton was conducted from the family residence 
in Hodges Road yesterday afternoon.  Rev. E.S. Pierce, pastor of the South 
Norfolk Baptist Church, officiated and the interment was in Magnolia cemetery.
