Virginian Pilot January 26, 1963

Willie R. Overton of 746 E. 28th St, died Friday in his home after a long 
illness.

A native of Elizabeth City, N.C., he was a son of Nathaniel and Mrs. Martha 
Butts Overton and the husband of Mrs. Dorothy Overton.

He operated Lundon’s Shoe Repair and was a member of First Church of Christ 
Holiness.

Besides his widow, surviving are a son, George H. Overton of the Army in 
Alaska; two daughters, Mrs. Jeannette Wilson and Mrs. Shirley White of Norfolk; 
three brothers, Charles Overton and Columbus Overton of Brooklyn and James 
Overton of Elizabeth City; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Wiggins of Elizabeth City 
and Mrs. Viola Smith of Brooklyn; eight grandchildren and ten great 
grandchildren.
