Norfolk - Mrs. Eva Owens of 7640 Caxton Court, a native of Plymouth, NC, and 
the widow of Samuel Owens Sr., died Oct. 22 in Lake Taylor City Hospital.

She was a member of Greater Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Doris L. Brooks, Mrs. Ann B. 
McInnis, and Ms. Mattie Brooks of Norfolk;  four sons, Louise Owens, Waverly 
Brooks, and Willie R. Brooks of Norfolk and Samuel Owens Jr. of Manhattan 
NY;  a sister, Mrs. Catherine E. Brooks of Plymouth;  16 grandchildren;  and 
24 great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held Oct. 27 in Greater Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church by the 
Rev. Jackson A. Browne.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.  Jones Funeral Home 
had charge.
