James Owens of New York City was buried in Calvary Cemetery here, May 2, with 
Hale Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Mr. Owens, native Norfolkian, lived 
at 1414 Teller avenue, New York, and was employed 30 years as a  cab driver.  He 
died in a New York hospital April 27 and was given last rites there May 1.

A son of the late James B. Owens and Mrs. Emma Owens, and the husband of Mrs. 
Beatrice Owens, he is survived by two brothers, Walter Owens of Norfolk and 
George Owens of Princess Anne county;  and one sister, Mrs. Emma Braithwaite, 
Princess Anne county.
