Norfolk - Eddie O. Owens, of 2428 Middle street, received final rites Sunday at 
St. John AME Church by the Rev. Walter L. Hildebrand.  Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery with Jones Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A Marion, SC, native, he was a son of the late Peter Owens and Mrs. Mary Owens  
and the husband of Mrs. LaVinia Owens.  He died June 4 in a hospital after a 
short illness.

He was an usher and Sunday School librarian of St. John AME church and a member 
of Odd Fellows and Hunton Branch of YMCA.  He was employed 32 years with 
International Harvester Co.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by three nephews and a niece.
