The Virginian-Pilot, Monday, April 3, 1961

NORFOLK - Thomas M. Owens died Sunday at 4:30 a.m. in his home, 1509 Conoga St., 
after long illness.

Son of George and Hendy Owens and the widower of Rosa B. Owens, he was a South 
Boston native and lived here 50 years.

Surviving are three sons, James A. Owens, Robert Owens and Herman t. Owens; two 
daughters, Mrs. Louise D. Morrow and Mrs. Ida F. Roscoe; a sister, Mrs. Lelia 
Walker, and a brother, Comus Owens, all of Norfolk.

The body was taken the Pretlow's Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in 
New Rosing Sun Holiness Church, of which he was a member, Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. 
by the Rev. Rosa Barnes, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
