NORFOLK - Roy Owens, 40, of 875 B. Ave. died Sunday afternoon in a Norfolk 
hospital after a short illness.

A native of Lawrenceville, he was a son of Mrs. Ethel Owens and the late James 
Owens. He lived in Norfolk 30 years and was a member of First Calvary Baptist 
Church.

Surviving, besides his mother, are his widow, Mrs. Theodosia Owens; two sisters, 
Mrs. Billie Yates of New York City and Mrs. Sarah Parkham of Disputanta, Va., 
and four brothers, Otis Owens of New York City, Wilbert Owens, Edward Owens and 
Jeff Owens, all of Norfolk.

The body was taken to Morning Glory Funeral Home, where a funeral service will 
be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. J.Q.A. Lassiter of Bethlehem 
Baptist Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
