Virginian Pilot February 11, 1986

Alice J. Owens of 1551 Winder Drive, a Sussex County native, died Sunday in a 
hospital.
Mrs. Owens, the widow of Isaiah Owens, had retired from Ballard Oyster House 
after 20 years.  She was a member of the Eastern Star and a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Harbison of Norfolk and Sarah Arnold of 
Chesapeake; a son, Willie Jackson of Norfolk; 22 grandchildren; 60 great-
grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Graves Funeral Home by 
Quarlie Jackson.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.  The family will meet at 
621 W. 38th St.
