Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, July 20, 1999 
Dorethia Margaretta Coley Owens, also known as ``Butter,'' 64, of the 3100 block
of Bapaume Ave., was called home early Sunday morning, July 18, 1999, at Sentara
Norfolk General Hospital.

Mrs. Owens was born March 15, 1935, in Henderson, N.C., to the late George and
Elenor Coley.

Survivors include her husband, Harry Lee Owens Sr. of Washington, D.C.; seven
children, Harry Owens and Deborah Owens of Virginia Beach, Kevin, Keith and
Kenneth Owens and Wanda Butler of Norfolk, and Diana Majors of Portsmouth; a
sister, Grace Coley Wiggins of Chesapeake; 14 grandchildren, Tramaine, Wayne,
Da'mon, Demetria, Marquita, Shakieta, Brian, Andre', Johnny, Alex, Nicole,
Ashely, Shante' and Andrew; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2401
Ludlow St., Norfolk, by the Rev. John R. Davis. The Rev. John Foster will
deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be taken
to the church at 10 a.m. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
