Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark July 21, 1924

Mary Virginia Padgett, aged 54, wife of Joseph L. Padgett, died at the 
residence, 273 West York Street, yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. She had been 
a resident of Norfolk for the past two years, coming here from Alexandria, Va. 
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Reginald C. Padgett and a 
brother, John Cunningham. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

PADGETT, MARY VIRGINIA – At the residence, No. 273 West York street, Sunday, 
July 20, 1924, at 4 o’clock p.m., MARY VIRGINIA, wife of Joseph L. Padgett, aged 
54 years.
Services at H. D. Oliver’s funeral apartments, No. 610-12 East Freemason street, 
THIS (Tuesday) AFTERNOON at 3 ’clock. Friends of the family are invited to 
attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
