Joseph Lovejoy Padgett, aged 69, died suddenly in Richmond yesterday morning at 
7 o’clock He was a native of Alexandria and had been a resident of Richmond the 
past six years.
Mr. Padgett was the son of Joseph and Sarah Padgett and is survived by one son, 
Reginald J. Padgett, of Richmond; three grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. 
Grace Tucker, of Alexandria.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Bro., 
Westover avenue at Manteo street, Saturday morning at 11 o’clock. The Rev. T. P. 
Scannell, assistant pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate. 
Burial will be in the family plot in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
