Elma Williams Palmer, 93, died April 9, 2004, at Bay Pointe Nursing Facility in 
Virginia Beach. 
She was predeceased by her husband, Noah Hughes Palmer Jr. and a grandson, 
Julian Whitney Palmer. 
She is survived by a son, Noah Hughes Palmer III and his wife Virginia; a 
daughter, Frances and her husband James Holloway; six grandchildren, Noah 
Hughes Palmer IV and wife Linda of Williamsburg, Va.; Susan P. Shaughnessy and 
her husband Chris, Deborah H. Barry, Robin and her husband, Robert Hollowell of 
North Carolina, David and his wife Janet Holloway, Michael and Lacretia 
Holloway of Chesapeake. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and a 
special niece, Jackie Pontifex. 
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere 
Ave, Norfolk, VA 23513. 
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Magnolia Cemetery, 
Norfolk. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling 
arrangements.
