Virginian-Pilot August 8, 1964
NORFOLK - James Vincent Panella, 59, son of the late Giuseppe and Mrs. Carolina 
Briglia Panella, died in a Norfolk hospital Friday at 8:45 a.m.
Panella was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, a member of Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Church, and a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Spiros Karseras and Mrs. C. Scott Evans of 
Norfolk, and Mrs. Ralph DeMarco of Virginia Beach; and three brothers, Frank 
Joseph Panella and Johnny B. Panella of Norfolk and Tony M. Panella of Virginia 
Beach.
The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Church for a Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 
p.m.
