Lawrence J. Smith officiating. The services consisted of a sermon by the minister; a solo by Miss Esther Dickson; selections by the Youthful Christ Chorus; obituaries by Mrs. Pearl Holloman; remarks by the Rev. Vannie Parker, and scripture reading by Rev. Mr. White, and selections by the senior choir. His survivors are his wife, Mrs. Pearl Parham; other, Mrs. Sadie Parham of New York City; two sons, Melvin Jarvis and Walter Parham, Jr.; one daughter, Lillie Bernice Parham; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Palmer of Norfolk and Mrs. Lillie Howie of New York; two brothers, Alphonso Parham, Norfolk, James E. Parham, New York. Also seven nephews, three nieces and serveral other relatives. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers were Solomon Skinner, Edward L. Epps, H. Joynes, M. Bowe, G. Stenson and M. Dixon, who worked with Mr. Parham at the Finklestein plant. Hale Funeral Home was in charge of burial arrangements.
