Mr. Parker, who died Friday, Oct. 2, 6:45 p.m. at a local hospital, had been ill for some time. He had previously been confined at Community Hospital. Employed at Willie’s Sanitary Barber Shop, now on East Bute street, for a number of years, he was a member of the Tuxs and (several words are blurred)......Social Clubs. Formerly of Tarboro, NC, where he was born to Richard and Betty Parker, Mr. Parker had been in Norfolk for a numer of years and resided at 633 Landing street. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olga Parker; a daughter, Miss Shirley Billups of Tarboro; a step-son, Charles Bernard Harris, Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Dolly King and Mrs Rosa Taylor, Norfolk; and two brothers, Willie Parker and Elbert Parker of Newark, NJ. Riddick’s Funeral Home had charge of the body and interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
