PARKER PASSED AWAY Prominent Attorney And Business Man Of Berkley Dies After Long Ilness George D. Parker, Jr., one of Berkley's best known attorneys and esteemed citizens, died at his residence,102 Main street yesterday morning at 2 o'clock. He had been ill fourteen weeks. He was forty-four years old, a son of the late Judge George D. Parker and Mrs. Urbanna Howey Parker. He spent his entire life in the ward, linking himself with its progress and proving one of its most substantial factors. Mr. Parker was the attorney for the Berkley Permanent Building Association and was prominently connected with other business organizations of this section, also of the bar of Norfolk, Portsmouth and Norfolk County. He was a member of the vestry of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, also one of its trustees. He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Lena Parker and one daughter, Mary Ottley Parker, also his mother, Mrs. Urbanna H. Parker and three aunts, Mrs. J.W.H. Wrenn, Mrs. J.J. Ottley and Miss Sue Parker. Mr. Parker was a nephew of Lieutenant Colonel Leopold O. Parker, U.S.A. of San Francisco. The funeral will be at St. Thomas Episcopal Church Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Rev. E.W. Cowling, rector of the church will officiate and the interment will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery. ************************************************************************* PARKER -- At his residence, No. 102 Main street, Berkley ward, Norfolk, Va., Thursday morning, June 13, 1912, at 2 o'clock, GEORGE DONIPHAN PARKER, Jr., aged 43 years, 5 months and 9 days. The funeral will be conducted from St. Thomas Episcopal Church, SATURDAY AFTERNOON, June 15, at 3:30 o'clock. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Friends of the family invited to attend. ******************** The funeral of the late Attorney George Doniphan Parker, who died at his residence, Main street and Maple avenue, early Thursday morning, after a lingering illness, will be conducted from St. Thomas Episcopal Church this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The attendance will no doubt be very large in view of his popularity and the large number of friends he possessed. Rev. E.W. Cowling, rector of the church, will officiate and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Among those from out of the city who arrived yesterday to attend the funeral are: W.G., V.M. and M.W. Ottley, Columbus Miss.; Edward S. Duval, Washington, D.C. and Mrs. Nannie Chalmers, Smithfield, Va.
