Parker, of the 900 block of Rugby St., a retired planner/estimator, died July 29, 1993, in a local hospital. Mr. Parker was born in Norfolk. He was a veteran of World War II; past president of Club De Porres; member of American Legion Post (NU)190 in Portsmouth; and First Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruby B. Parker; eight daughters, Patricia Earle of Mays Landing, N.J., Hollace Williams of Alexandria, La., Sharon Hill of Warner Robbins, Ga., Iantha Glasper, Andrie Teague, Kimberly Braxton, Barbara Braxton, Valencia Tutt, and one son, Kenneth Braxton of Norfolk; mother, Ruth Salter; one sister, Jean Thompson; two brothers, Addison Parker and Calvin Parker of Norfolk; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five sons-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in First Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Johnnie White. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the family at the residence. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
