Parker Sr., of the 1800 block of Lafayette Blvd., known as ``The Ice Man,'' died Jan. 18, 1999, in a local hospital. Born in Norfolk, he was a retired truck driver for Montgomery Ward and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Parker; three daughters, Denise King of Lawton, Okla., Robin P. Jackson of Virginia Beach and Yolanda R. Coles of Durham, N.C.; seven sons, Addison L. Parker Jr. of Virginia Beach, Robert Robinson of Richmond, Kenneth Parker, Joseph Parker and Jeffery Parker, all of Hampton, Alexander Parker and Dwayne Parker, both of Norfolk; mother, Ruth Cotton Parker Salter; a sister, Jean Thompson of Norfolk; a brother, Calvin Parker of Norfolk; 27 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in St. Mark's RZUA Church by the Rev. Ted Lewis. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the family at the residence.
