The Norfolk Landmark September 12, 1882

PARKS - Yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, at her residence, in Berkley, after 
a protracted illness, Mrs. E.V. PARKS, wife of Mr. J.T. Parks, aged 46 years and 
18 days.
Her funeral will take place at the Chestnut Street M.E. Church TOMORROW 
(Wednesday) MORNING at 11 o'clock. Friends and acquaintances are respectfully 
invited to attend without further notice.

Death of an Estimable Lady - After a protracted illness, reaching through many 
weeks, quietly passed away Mrs. E.V. Parks yesterday evening at 4 o'clock. By 
this sad dispensation six children have been bereft of the watchful and tender 
care of a devoted and affectionate mother and the vine which has clung to the 
stalwart oak for the period of twenty-seven years is forever severed. To the 
bereaved husband and sorrowing children we tender our sincere condolence in this 
the hour of deep affliction.
