He was a native of Surry County and had been a resident of Norfolk for 45 years, making his residence at 131 Hough avenue, Apartment 4. He was a son of Mrs. Anne Judkins Parsons, of Norfolk, and the late Joseph E. Parsons. Mr. Parsons was a member of the Corinthian Lodge No. 266, A.F. & A.M. and the Maj. Marshall Tarrall Camp No. 5, United Spanish War Veterans. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Dunn Parsons; a son, James Edward Parsons, Jr.; a sister, Mrs. D.P. Reid, Jr.; two brothers, Joseph W. and Robert R. Parsons, and a number of nieces and nephews, all of Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home, 631 Westover avenue, this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. C.E. Green, pastor of Memorial Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
