Born May 28, 1930 in Norfolk, she lived in Guam, London, and Norfolk, before fulfilling her dream of settling in Bingo Heaven. Catherine and her husband, Sam, were on the original team that founded Operation Smile, a longtime passion for the two of them. Their most recent medical mission was in Sam's hometown of Pozorrobio, Pangasinan, Philippines, on May 25-28, 2011. Catherine was blessed with Samuel, her husband of 46 years; her children, Sarah Clements, Chessie Pasalgon, John Stephens and Steven Caseria; a sister, Laura Ward; and four stepbrothers, Grady Morton, Kenny Morton, Joseph Morton and Nicky Morton. She had eight grandchildren, Julie Wilkerson, Stephanie Solano, Miguel Solano Jr., John Stephens III, Christopher Stephens, Albert Pasalgon, Marcus Pasalgon, Travis Clements and Byron Clements. She also had four great- grandchildren, Matthew Stagg, Austin Vevera, Gillian Clements and Cadence Clements; sister-in-law, Paz Dragon and husband, Art, and their two children, Marie and Art John. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk and where a funeral Mass will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Operation Smile/Project Pozoirubio, Philippines in memory of Catherine Estelle Pasag.
