The Rev. R. A. Councill, pastor, officiated. He was assisted by the Rt. Rev. J. D. Cauthen, former pastor of the church, who spoke of the work of the deceased as a member of Metropolitan Church. The Rev. C. C. Higgs made remarks. Mr. Patrick was a coal trimmer, and worked at the Lamberts Point piers. Members of Local 1379 of the International Longshoremen’s Association where the deceased was a member acted as pallbearers. A native of Greenville, NC, Mr. Patrick had resided in Norfolk for a number of years. He is survived by his widow, brother, one sister, several nieces and nephews and other relatives. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Home in charge of burial arrangements.
