Patterson Dies at Age 76; Brick Contractor Samuel C. Patterson, 76, brick contractor, died in a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 5:30 a.m. A native of Shelby, N.C., and son of Albert Y. Patterson and Mrs. Margaret Goodson Patterson, he had lived in Norfolk for 30 years. He resided at 1412 West 49th Street. He was a member of Zion Methodist Church, Corinthian Lodge No. 266. A.F. and A.M. and past patron of Westminster Chapter No. 99, Order of the Eastern Star. A veteran of the Spanish-American War, he was a member of Major Marshall-Tarrall Camp No. 45. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eva McNulty Patterson; a son, John R. Patterson, of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Limerick, of Anadarko, Okla., and Miss Lillian Patterson, of Norfolk; two brothers, Cicero C. Patterson, of Shelby, N.C. and Dr. R. Matt Patterson, of Concord, N.C., and a granddaughter, Miss Bonnie Ellen Patterson. Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral HOme tomorrow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
