Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - May 8, 1991

Alphonso Patterson, of the 1000 block of Charlotte St., a construction 
worker, died May 5, 1991, in a hospital.
Mr. Patterson, a native of Lillington, N.C., was employed with J.M. Briggs 
Inc. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Nicole Hodges of Norfolk; his mother, Sallie 
W. Patterson of Norfolk; five sisters, Brenda L. Patterson, Martha McDaniel, 
Hattie Patterson and Agnes Hawkins, all of Norfolk, and Dorothy Pullen of 
Enfield, N.C.; four brothers, Andrew M. Patterson, James Patterson, Joseph 
Arrington and Richard Patterson Jr., all of Norfolk; and a grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in Metropolitan Funeral Home 
by the Rev. Joseph Lassiter. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Family and 
friends will assemble at 1018 Charlotte St. at 11 a.m. Thursday for the 
procession.
