William Paul Patterson, of the 1300 block of East Ocean View Ave., a NJROTC 
instructor, died March 22, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.

He was a native of Jenks, Okla., and a NJROTC instructor at Norview Senior High 
School for 24 years. QMSC Patterson was a Navy veteran of Korea and Vietnam and 
had retired from the Navy after 24 years aboard the USS John F. Kennedy. He was a 
member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch (NU)5. He received his degree in 
political science from Old Dominion University.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Collamer Patterson; nine children, Lillyanne P. 
Williams and her husband, Timothy, Lorrieanne P. Belche and her husband, Joel, 
Melinda M. Patterson, Teresa Brantley Anglim, Ronald W. Patterson, Robert L. 
Brantley and his wife, Jacqueline, Catherine M. Brantley, M. Patricia Hochhalter 
and her husband, Kevin, Darren R. Patterson and his wife, Florence; one sister, 
Pauline P. Brown; and nine grandchildren.

A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apts., Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Herb Holton. Burial will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home 7 to 8 p. m. today.

Memorial donations may be made to Lee's Friends, c/o 618 Stockley Gardens, 
Norfolk, Va.
