He was a native of Schuylkill Haven, Pa., and had been a resident of Oaklette and vicinity for 51 years. Mr. Paxson was a prominent produce merchant of Norfolk for 40 years, carrying on his business under the name of P.W. Paxson & Co. He was the son of the late Joseph P. and Mrs. Jennie Wynkoop Paxson and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jennie Marshall Paxson; one daughter, Mrs. P.E. Harriss, of Oaklette; two sisters, Mrs. Frances E. Hermance, of Oaklette, and Mrs. E.A. Benton, of Trotville, N.C.; one brother, A.Y. Paxson, of Oaklette, and three grandchildren. He was a member of Oaklette Methodist Episcopal Church. The body will be taken from the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Bro., 631 Westover avenue, to the family residence this afternoon, from whence it will be taken to the Oaklette Methodist Episcopal Church for funeral services tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The Rev. J.S. Maxey, pastor of the church, will officiate.
