NORFOLK - Walter S. Payette, 67, of 1041 S. Lexan Crescent, husband of Mrs. 
Matilda G. Payette and son of Herman and Mrs. Margarette Byrnes Payette, died 
Tuesday in a hospital. He was retired from Norfolk & Western Railway.
A native of Marshalltown, Iowa, he lived here most of his life. He was a member of 
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank Fahrig of 
Virginia Beach; a son, Russell J. Payette of Fullerton, Calif.; and three 
grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 8.
A funeral service will be held in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Friday at 10 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family has requested that flowers 
be omitted.
