Virginian Pilot July 28, 1990

Clara Wallace Payne, 74, of the 500 block of 24th St., died July 25, 1990, in a 
hospital.
Mrs. Payne, a native of Northfork, W.Va., was the widow of Walter T. Payne. Mrs. 
Payne was a member of Galilee Episcopal Church and was a past chairman of the 
thrift shop for Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynne Richards of Brownsville, Texas; two sisters, 
Letha Young of Boydton, Va., and Bernice Dick of Tulsa, Okla.; two 
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Galilee Episcopal Church by 
the Rev. John Jordan. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. H.D. Oliver 
Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, is handling arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
