Mrs. Curtis Floyd Brown Peacock, 86, died at her residence July 4, 1999. 
Mrs. Peacock was born Feb. 12, 1913, in North Carolina to the late Mr. and Mrs. 
Charlie W. Floyd. She was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church, a retired 
teller and the wife of the late Arron V. "Red" Brown. 
Mrs. Peacock is survived by her daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Thomas of Virginia 
Beach; a stepson, Ray Brown of Dunnellon, Fla.; three sisters, Alice Bottoms of 
Oxford, N.C., Dorothy Smiley of Pelion, S.C., and Lois Schneider of Lynchburg, 
Va.; a brother, Albert T. Floyd of California; two grandchildren, Michael A. 
Whitley of Chesapeake and Robert W. Whitley of Richmond; two great-
grandchildren; and a faithful friend, James T. Vernon of Portsmouth.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Riverside Memorial Park 
with the Rev. W. Emmett Diggs officiating. The family will receive friends at 
the residence of Mrs. Peacock's daughter, Peggy Thomas, after the service. In 
lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Faith 
Wesleyan Church, Building Fund, 1099 Kempsville Road, Norfolk VA 23502. 
Cremation Society of Virginia, Tidewater Office, is handling arrangements.
