NORFOLK - Mrs. Mamie Dawkins Pearson of 600 Walker Ave. died Monday in a 
hospital after a long illness.

A native of Gaffney, S.C., she was a daughter of Elford Dawkins Sr. and Mrs. 
Alice Dawkins and the wife of Willie Pearson.

Besides her husband and parents, surviving are a son, Walter Lee Pearson of 
Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lee Logan of High Point, N.C., and Mrs. Shirley 
Reed of Greensboro, N.C.; and a brother, Elford Dawkins Jr. of Norfolk.

A funeral service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mark's United Church 
of Christ. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Metropolitan Funeral Home in 
charge.
