The Norfolk Virginian-Pilot Monday January 12, 1948
Newport News, Jan. 11- Mrs. Annie Maude Pebworth, 88, died today at 1:45 a.m. 
at her residence 38 Cedar Avenue, Newport News, after a long illness.
A native of Nansemond County, Mrs. Pebworth had resided in Newport News 22 
years. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Adela Corran Mayo and widow of 
Alexander Pebworth.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. W.J. Brown, of Newport News, and Mrs. J.I. 
Goodman, of Berkley. She was a member of the Memorial Methodist Church of 
Newport News.
The body is at the Sykes Funeral Home, 124 East Berkley Avenue, Norfolk, where 
services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia 
Cemetery, Berkley.
