NORFOLK - William Andrew "Hawk Eye" Peebles Jr., 72, of the 900 block of Craten
Road, passed quietly and peacefully into eternal rest July 6, 2007, after an
extended illness. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late William A. Sr.
and Dosie Cooper Peebles. He was the husband of Lillie B. Peebles.
Mr. Peebles retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, after 30 years
of service. He was a faithful member of New Calvary Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted wife, Lillie of the home; a
daughter, Paula P. Bonds (Michael); three sons, William III, Todd and Barry; a
sister, Carolyn Peebles; and grandchildren, Michael Bonds, Marcus Bonds, Dymond
Peebles and Nadira Peebles.
A funeral will be held at noon Thursday in New Calvary Baptist Church, 800 E.
Virginia Beach Blvd. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be
Wednesday from 2 until 8 p.m. at Riddick Funeral Service. The body will be
placed in church at 11 a.m. Thursday. The family will receive friends at the
funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
