She was born in Portsmouth Aug. 22, 1914, at 400 Dinwiddie Street. She lived the past 76 years of her life in Norfolk, after moving from Portsmouth when she was just out of high school, when her father, Elvan Lewis Collamer Sr., bought the Park Theater on Lafayette Boulevard in 1932. She was a junior USO volunteer during World War II and received the Certificate of Merit from the First Fighter Command Auxiliary Aircraft Warning Service for map plotting of enemy plans during the war. She spent her time on her computer and enjoyed her knitting. She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Clement Claudius Peed. She is survived by her three children, Clement Elvan Peed and his wife, Cheryl Portie Peed, Mary Frances Peed Sherwood and her husband, Paul Sherwood and Patricia Anne Peed Ashley. She has nine grandchildren, Alicia Frances Peed Stone and her husband, Corbin Clark Stone, Jeffrey Elvan Peed and his wife, Erin Mill Peed, Aaron Gregory Sherwood, Jacob Paul Sherwood and his wife, Elif Karacay Sherwood, Elizabeth Marie Ashley and her fiance, Matthew Herman, Ashley Marie Peed and her fiance, Jay Charles Malaquias, Michael Henry Ashley, Laura Ella Ashley and Brian Clement Ashley. She has five great-grandchildren, Grayson Clark Stone, Connor Jeffrey Peed, Colby Carsten Stone, Addison Ramsey Arlene Peed and Ainsley Frances Stone. A Rosary will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church, Norfolk. A funeral Mass will be held the same day at 11 a.m. in the church. She will be buried at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk. She was known for her desire to have the latest technology gadgets and always up for another challenge. She was a breast cancer survivor and fought macular degeneration of the eyes. She spent hours on the computer and used an enlargement software to conquer her decreasing eye sight. There was never a stranger she met.
