She was born March 12, 1915 to the Solomon and Rosa McDaniel Dickens in Scotland Neck, North Carolina. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church where she served with the usher fellowship. Mrs. Peele retired from Dominion Virginia Power after 42 years of dedicated service. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her husband, William Peele; sister, Vivian D. Robinson (Alfred); cousins, Ruth Tazewell (Issac) and Charles Hyman. Lottie is survived by her nephew, Arthur S. Dickens (Jean); godsons, John Munford (Levon) and Dr. Gene Carter (Lillian); caregiver, George "P.J" Holley; and a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins. The viewing will be held at Hale Funeral Home on Thursday, February 13 from 12 noon to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday at First Calvary Baptist Church, 813 Henry Street Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. J.L. White, Sr. will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Arthur S. Dickens located at 358 Dexter St. E. Chesapeake, Virginia 23324.
