Peele, Jr., 19, was killed in action March 16 in Europe while serving in the infantry with Patch's Seventh Army, according to a War Department telegram received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward R. Peele, of 624 Boissevain Avenue. He had been reported missing for several weeks. A graduate of Maury High School, he worked for the Virginian-Pilot newsroom before entering the Army January 17, 1944. He went overseas in November. Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Nancy and a brother, Sam, both of Norfolk. ********************************************** Pfc E.R. Peele Reburied Here Reburial services for Private First Class Edward R. Peele, Jr., who was killed in action in Germany on March 16, 1945, were conducted at the grave in Forest Lawn Cemetery yesterday at 3:30 p.m. by Dr. E. Ruffin Jones. He was a member of Company F, 255th Infantry Regiment, 83d Division, Seventh Army. He is survived by his parents, Edward R. and Mrs. Florence Clarke Peele, who reside at 614 Boissevain Avenue; a sister, Miss Nancy Cobb Peele and a brother, Samuel Clarke Peele. Pallbearers were Merriel Paris, John G. Peele, Harold Bennett, E.M. Williams and W.L. Bradshaw.
