Double Funeral

The double funeral services held at St. Mary’s Catholic church yesterday for the 
two French sailor and soldier heroes were most impressive. The two men, formerly 
of the French army, but more recently members of the French merchant marine, died 
at St. Vincent's hospital. They were Yves Pegenneck and August Besnier.

Pallbearers were shipmates of the deceased. Monsignor J. T. O’Farrell conducted 
the services. Officers and men of the vessel on which they served were present. 
Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.
