Rose was born on February 26, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York, where she was raised by her parents, Frank and Agata Barile. The daughter of Italian immigrants, she acquired an appreciation for hard work and never taking anything for granted at an early age, working multiple jobs throughout her schooling. Rose graduated from Hunter College in New York City with a B.S. in Nursing in 1990, and began working as a Registered Nurse shortly thereafter. On June 6, 1993, she married her husband Anthony, and the two of them moved to Richmond, Virginia, where she worked as an R.N., while Anthony was in dental school. Along with being a loving wife and nurse, perhaps her biggest joy in life was being the devoted mother to her 4 kids. In 1998, while still living in Richmond, she and her husband welcomed their only son, Anthony Thomas. After moving to Virginia Beach in 1999, Rose and Anthony welcomed each of their 3 daughters, Hannah, Madison, and Kate. She was dedicated to her kids, and quickly became involved with the St. Matthew church and school community, where all 4 of her children attended pre-K to 8th grade. Throughout her long battle with cancer, she always maintained a positive outlook and never gave up. She will be greatly missed. A funeral mass is scheduled for Saturday, November 20th, at 11am at Saint Matthew Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 19th, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home (Lynnhaven Chapel, 3600 Virginia Beach Blvd.) from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is welcoming donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Rose is survived by her husband, Anthony, their 4 children, Anthony, Hannah, Madison, and Kate, as well as her 2 brothers, Frank and Johnny.
