Virginian-Pilot July 2, 1981
NORFOLK - Angelo Joseph (Angie) Penello, 80, of 2129 Mervis St., a retired 
mailing room employee of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger Star, and husband of 
Mrs. Ruby Sanderlin Penello, died Wednesday in a hospital.
Penello, a native of Norfolk, worked for the newspapers for more than 51 years 
before his retirement.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lois P. Abbott of California; a son, 
Frank A. Penello of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine P. Mollura of 
Norfolk, Mrs. Catherine P. Ellison of California, and Mrs. Theresa P. Forte of 
Detroit, Mich.; a brother, John A. Penello of Severna Park, Md.; four 
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A Christian Wake service will be held 
tonight at 7 in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, where the family will be tonight 
from 7 to 9.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church by the Rev. Vincent Connery. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic 
Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
