Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark April 6, 1934

Mrs. Carolina Pennello, aged 66, widow of Julian Pennello and daughter of the 
late Frank and Maria Rosa Briglia Russo, died yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock 
at a local hospital. Mrs. Pennello was a native of Italy and had been a resident 
of Norfolk for the past 41 years. Surviving here are one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence 
Danza, of Roanoke; seven sons, Joseph M., Rocco, John, Angelo, Vincent and 
Julian Pennello, of Norfolk and Gene T. Pennello, of Yonkers, N.Y. and 16 
grandchildren. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and of Cuore de 
Maria Gorizia Lodge No. 619. The body will be taken from the residence, 212 West 
Sixteenth Street to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for funeral services tomorrow 
morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
