William D. Perkins of 957 Washington avenue died Jan. 14 at his residence. 
He ws retired from the Norfolk Naval Base after 30 years service, was a 
member of the Masons and Campbell Lodge of Odd Fellows, Lancaster Social and 
Beneficial Club, Orioles Social and Beneficial Club and the Progressive 
Social and Beneficial Club of which he was president and founder.

He was also president and founder of the Retired Men’s Club, and a 50-year 
member of St. John AME Church, where he was past president of the male usher 
board.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annette P. Perkins, son, Carlton D. Perkins and 
one brother, Albert W. Perkins.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 17 at St. John Church with the Rev. 
Walter Hildebrand officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
