She was a native of Norfolk and the wife of William M. Perkins. Mrs. Perkins, who taught in the Norfolk public schools system 29 years, was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church and was chairman of its Religious Education Committee. She was also a member of Norfolk Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Education Association of Norfolk, Virginia Education Association, and National Education Association, and was sponsor of the Norview Junior High School Future Business Leaders of America. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Beverly Perkins Spainhour of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Ethel B. Ward of Norfolk; and two grandsons, sterling A. Spainhour and Brian W. Spainhour of Winston-Salem. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in First Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Johnnie L. White. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with Riddick Funeral Service in charge. There will be a Delta Sigma Theta memorial service Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
