NORFOLK - Mrs. Mattie O. Perkins of 948 Tifton street, the widow of Andrew
Perkins, died in a hospital.

A native of Norfolk, she was a daughter of the late George and Mrs. Nellie Overton.

She was retired from the City of Norfolk and was a member of First Baptist
Church, Bute street.

Surviving are nine cousins, Robert Garnette, Dr. B. T. Garnette Jr., Mrs. Julia
Fields, Mrs. Jean Johnson and Mrs. Belle Foreman of Norfolk, and Booker T.
Garnette, James H. Perry, R. E. Thomas and Mrs. Pearl Robinson of New York.

A funeral service was held in First Baptist Church, Bute street, by the Rev. E.
Paul Simms.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Graves Funeral Home in charge.
