As she was a hard drinker and often drunk, it is presumed that she got on one of her sprees and going home drunk and having no fire she laid down and froze to death. Dr. George Maupin, the coroner, was notified, but after hearing the particulars, decided it was unnecessary to hold an inquest. She was buried at the expense of the city.
