Norfolk Journal and Guide, Oct 17,1942
Funeral services for Joseph Perkins Jr., 7, 337 Nicholson street, were held 
October 9 in Hale’s Chapel.  The Rev. J. Jones officiated.  He was drowned in 
the Elizabeth River on October 3.  He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. 
Joseph Perkins, Sr.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery
