Joe Perminter, 52, of 233 Filbert street, who died at his home March 23, was 
given final rites Monday at New Mt. Zion AME Church, with the Rev. H. L. Camper 
officiating.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Graves Funeral Home.

Mr. Perminter was a native of Aiken, SC.  He lived in Norfolk 20 years and was 
employed for 13 years by a paint company.  He was a member of Tidewater Lodge of 
Masons, treasurer of Community Civic League and Community Flower Club, a 
trustee, usher and treasurer of the Sunday School and the male chorus at New Mt. 
Zion Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Perminter;  two sons, Roy Perminter of 
Keysville, GA, and Jerome Perminter of New York;  two daughters, Daphne 
Perminter of Norfolk and Mrs. Mozelle Davis of Keysville and a brother Quinbly 
Perminter of Detroit.
