Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, September 2, 2001 
Dorothy Brown ``Kitty'' Perminter of the 200 block of Filbert St. passed away
Aug. 29, 2001, in DePaul Hospital. She was a retiree of Norfolk Public School
Custodial Department. She also worked for Family Services of Norfolk after her
retirement.

Mrs. Perminter was a member of New Mount Zion AME Church (Bolling Brook) Where
she was one of the Mothers of the church. She was a past matron of Rising Sun
Chapter No. 32 of the Eastern Star and a member of the Priscilla Court No. 292
of Calanthe.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter Daphne Perminter-Russell;
son-in-law, Fernando G. Russell Sr.; a step grandson, Fernando G. Russell Jr.; a
son, Roy Williams of Keysville, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Betty G. Brown; nieces,
Violet Eure and husband Thomas Eure, Mabel Griffin, Helen I. Copeland; nephews,
Col. James Wyatt of New Jersey, Dennis D. Patterson Sr. and wife Annie
Patterson, James Brown and wife Gwen Brown, Wilton Day and wife Shirley Day,
Alfred Johnson and wife Alice Johnson; great-nieces, Patricia Daye Reid, Ada
Blair, Mary L. Johnson, Eloise A. Neal-Moore, Mildred Wyatt, Towanda Wyatt
Stepp, Ava Daye; god daughters, Yvonne Copeland and Jametra Copeland; sister
friends, Virginia A. Gordon and Edna Powell; and a host of other relatives and
friends.

Homegoing services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 5, at noon at New Mount Zion
AME Church, 113 Seekel St., Norfolk, by the Rev. Joel Tomlin, with burial in
Calvary Cemetery . Graves Funeral Home is in charge.
