Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, December 21, 1993
Ray Holmes Pernell, 54, of the 300 block of W. 26th St., died Dec. 18, 1993, in
his home.

Survivors include his wife, Gernoah Pernell Sr. of Norfolk; two sons, Terry
Rayfield Holmes of Norfolk and Gernoah N. Pernell Jr. of Chesapeake; a brother,
Dr. Ernest A. Holmes of Fort Washington, Md.; an uncle, Robert Holmes of Newport
News; and two aunts, Lulla Scott Lewis and Dorothy Scott Thompson, both of Norfolk.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in First Baptist Church Lamberts
Point by the Rev. A.C. Paige. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Pretlow & Sons
Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements. The family will be at 555
Liberty St., Norfolk, Apartment 206.
